The help machinery the executor assigns before it runs this group.

Only a group needs it: a command that owns children is asked which child was meant, and rendering its own registry is how it answers. An ordinary command has inputs to run and never looks here. It is null when a group is invoked directly instead of through an executor, which is what lets run answer with no output rather than reaching for a registry it was never given.
